Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej (now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be given a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was only six years old. She began competing in the national junior championships of 1969 placing 13th and she won the competition in 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three golds as well as in 1973 and 1974 she was an all-around junior champion. Her first competitive event as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals and one silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976. She was the first woman to perform the backward double salto in a dismount from the barres that are not parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she was performing on travel shows like Ice Capades as a skater as well as her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol was a part of the entertainment business in her teens. She started her career as a figure skater, performing alongside her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating and featured theatrical shows.
